Memorial Day

What better way is there to spend Memorial Day? Having a picnic at the beach, of course. It was a beautiful day. Sunny, warm & not too crowded. The kids all love the beach. The water, the sand, the snacks & of course relaxing. I hope summer is full of days just like this one.

Brody's Reptile Party

With 4 kiddos we attend A LOT of birthday parties but today was the 1st time we got to experience a reptile party. There were turtles, iguanas, spiders & snakes. The kids were able to pet & hold the animals. Even Auntie Kim & I got in on the action. As you can see the boys were much braver than us. Although you will notice that Joey is not in any photos because the minute a reptile was pulled out he ran far away & never came back. Smart boy.

Last T-Ball Game

Tonight was the last T-Ball game for the Bolander boys.  It was a really fun season. Joey learned new skills like batting, sliding & fielding. He made new friends but he was very happy to see the season come to an end.

Jimmy on the other hand absolutely loved baseball & was sad to see the season end.  He also learned to bat, run & field. He was a natural at the game & enjoyed every aspect of it all.

It was a great season & we look forward to having a whole house full of rookies next spring.

Mama's Day

I love Mother's Day! I feel so special on this day. I love my children & feel like I'm always doing something to take care of them so it's nice to have this one day a year where my husband, kids, sisters & dad make me feel extra nice & take care of me.This year we just BBQ'd at our place. Rick stayed on the other side of the lens to capture me with the kids this year. As you can see it's not so easy to get a great photo & I can get really frustrated.
I was able to sort of get one with my boys & one with my girl alone.
After awhile & a lot of tries we finally got a photo I was really happy with.
Then we had a wonderful lunch & let the kids run wild. This just meant that us girls & Joe were able to have our own photo shoot in the front yard.

Joey being Joey decided he had to out-do all of us with his silly self.
I couldn't have asked for a better day!

Anniversary Week

This week Rick & I have been together for 15 years. 9 year of marriage but all those first years as a couple should be remembered too. These days there aren't a lot of hours to go out & celebrate so I thought I would share what our week has been like instead. Holly discovered her love for football jerseys. Good thing she looks cute or this one would never be worn in this house.

She also had her fingernails painted for the first time & she loved it.
Johnnie completed reading all 52 books in Kindergarten which is a huge accomplishment that all the children DON'T do so it made it even more special. I attended the Kinder picnic & captured a picture of Johnnie with his teacher Miss Hayes.

The kids spend so many hours playing in the backyard. Sometimes they get along & often times they fight so when they are being nice to each other I try & make sure to get a picture of them together. They also spend a ton of hours playing with Madelyn & Luke who live next door. And they love them.

And thanks to my sister Rick & I were able to go out to dinner alone to celebrate our anniversary. We don't get a lot of dinners alone but we do always get away to celebrate us. It will be so fun one day to look back at all the pictures of us on this day to see how much we have changed. I love you Rick & I love our life.
